Avalon second graders agreed Thursday their field trip to the National Gallery of Art Museum and play day at Great Seneca Creek Park was a success and overall fun day.
The class traveled to the National Gallery of Art Museum in the morning to view many of the famous works they’ve learned about in class.
According to second grader Ren Devereux, the best part of the trip was getting to see Leonardo DeVinci’s works painted when he was a young man.
Despite the interesting art, other students felt being outside was the best part of the day.
Second grader Jozsi Teleki thought his chance to pet a squirrel on the lawn in D.C. was his favorite thing.
Later, the class spent the afternoon on the playground at Great Seneca Creek.
Teacher Istvan Teleki said it was a great trip and the kids were very well-behaved. The 12-year teacher veteran received many comments from patrons, including guards at the gallery.
This is impressive considering they were away for six and a half hours.
