The Avalon student’s favored the Baltimore Ravens to win Super Bowl 47 over the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday.
When interviewed this past week, 60 percent of the sampled students expressed confidence in the Ravens to win while 40 percent believe that the 49ers will take home the victory this weekend.
Aside from living near Baltimore, a lot of support for The Ravens has sparked from long time football legend Rey Lewis’ announcement to retire after this season. After being a loyal Raven’s player for 17 years, Lewis is determined to leave with a Super Bowl Ring. Avalon students believe that because of this, the Ravens are going into the game with more momentum than their opponents.
“They’re going to win it for Rey Lewis, I’ve seen how they follow and look up to him,” said Avalon Senior Max Keiley. “He’s a great leader, how could they not follow him.”
On the other side of the coin, a handful of peers are confident that the 49er’s will be successful this Sunday and come out victorious.
There is a lot of hype about the 49ers’ rookie quarterback, Colin Kaepernick this year. “He has a lot of potential,” said Avalon teacher Tom Black.
A lot of students believe that the 49ers’ have a stronger offense than the Ravens; and a defense that can keep up with anything the Raven’s throw at them.
